Like terms? Many students may understand this in ELA, but they need more supports to identify LIKE TERMS in Math. It is important to be able to identify LIKE terms in Math so that students will be able to combine like terms and simplify expressions. Any student can learn if given the proper supports.

I spent time creating worksheets and videos for students to master this skill. I saw some of my students grasped the concept immediately while others were struggling. I knew they needed some more supports to master this skill. I was also able to reach my ELL & ESL students who did not understand English but understood the math with the visuals.

CONCLUSION:

 I created worksheets and videos to use which were unique because they provided visuals and supports which my students needed.
